  8. Purpose
  9. -------
  10. Updates the 'Active' file (eg "UULIB:Active") using the ".next" files put
  11. in each newsgroup directory by most news unbatchers.

  13. Written so that I could continue using PurgeNews after going back to a
  14. batched news system.

  17. Features of note

  20. o It displays a nice table of the groups, the highest and lowest messages,
  21.   and the total number of messages.
  22. o It uses a nice proportional progress bar to show you what's going on while
  23.   it writes out the new 'Active' file.
  24. o Backs up your old 'Active' file in case something goes wrong.
  25. o It's in ARexx so you can customise it however you want. (I could write it
  26.   in Assembler, but this type of thing is very suited to ARexx, so why
  27.   bother?)
